Not the movie that I know it from, nor the performance (which is The City of Lost Children and Marianne Faithfull) but something about this version and these visuals are speaking to me more than those originals right now.

I’m not sure about that idea of pleasure in/from the sadness. I’m not sure that ‘it exists at a safe distance’. But it is beautiful.
